Season championships led to a fast and exciting night at Independence Motor Speedway.

The IMCA Modified feature highlighted the night as the top four cars of Darin Duffy, Troy Cordes, Justin O’Brien and Jerry Luloff elected to take the challenge and start in the back. Max Corporon and Johnathan Thimmesch started off side by side until Corporon worked the low line to the lead. From the back of the pack Duffy by lap six had moved into the sixth spot. With a caution on lap eight Corporon had Thimmesch and Jason Snyder on his tail. Duffy was powering the high line as Corporon pulled away from Thimmesch. Jerry Luloff had worked his way into fifth on lap ten as another caution took place. Duffy had moved into third as Snyder moved into second. At the halfway point Snyder and Duffy were back and forth second as Luloff was working into fourth. Lap fifteen was the lap for Duffy as he shot to the lead. One last caution kept the field bunched with ten laps remaining. Duffy began to pull away as Cordes moved into the fifth spot. Luloff had worked the low groove and was working pass Snyder with the green flying. Duffy pulled way to the win and the track championship. Luloff, Corporon and Snyder followed.

Joel Rust took home the victory in the IMCA SportMods. While a two point difference was between Jim Buhlman and Kyle Bentley for the track championship. Buhlman and Bentley charged hard from the start of the race. Bentley shot to the lead as Rust moved into second. Buhlman was in third with Danny Dvorak on his bumper. Bentley was being challenged by Rust prior to the first caution. The halfway point Bentley still was in charged with Rust, Dvorak and Josh Sherbon following. Rust had moved into the lead as Sherbon passed Dvorak for third. Bentley started to fall back slightly ad Kaleb Bentley moved into third. The checkers flew as Rust crossed the line, Sherbon, Kaleb Bentley and Kyle Bentley followed. With Kyle’s finish he took the track championship.

Darren Ackerman only had to take the green flag to take the track championship but he did more then that as he took another victory in the IMCA Late Models. With only two cautions in the entire event Ackerman pulled away from the field. The top three of Ackerman, Travis Smock and Curt Martin were pulling away with Tyler Bruening starting to close the gap prior the second caution. Ackerman moved into lapped traffic but it didn’t seem to slow him down. Ackerman pulled away the last victory of the night, Smock, Martin and Bruening followed.

Josh Irvine not only took the win but he took the track championship in the IMCA Hobby Stocks. Irvine who started on the pole did not ever look back as he powered ahead of the field. Wes Stanek had moved into the second position with Matt Brown on his bumper. One caution gave Stanek one last change to take the lead but Irvine was to tough. Irvine took the checkers first with Stanek and Justin Hanson following.

Flyin’ Brian Irvine dominated for another win in the IMCA Stock Cars. Irvine pulled away from the field after the first and only caution of the event. Norman Chesmore and Phil Holtz got around as they both got sent to the back. At the halfway point Irvine had a good lead with Jarod Weepie and Dan Trimble battling for second. With five laps remaining Chesmore had moved back into the top five. Irvine took the checkers, Trimble Weepie and Chesmore followed.
