July 4th is a very special day in a town whose name is symbolic with our country's hard- fought freedom.  Indpependence, Iowa, is the place to be on the 4th of July.  The ciitie's  activities are bookended by the annual 4th of July parade in the morning and a spectactular fireworks show to end the day.

In between there is no better place to be than at the Independence Motor Speedway.  Our brand new grandstand is up and operational and provides an incredible view of the racing action; a view that has never before been available to race fans in northeast Iowa.

This Saturday's racing action is sponsored by McDonald's in Independence and Oelwein.  Ronald McDonald will be making his annual appearance to enterain the young and young at heart. 

We'll also be having our second Kid's Candy Dash of the year.  The candy dash has been generously sponsored by Superior Cleaning Services of Independence.
